Hello everybody. Before embarking on my journey as a blogger, I would like to briefly introduce myself. My name is Kevin Calixto and my majors are Elementary Education and Liberal Studies (with tracks in English and Economics). I am still unsure of what exactly my research topic will be. However, being that I am planning to become an educator I think it would be appropriate to research a school related topic. An issue I have been thinking about researching, which I am bound to encounter as a future educator, is school violence.
I
realize that school violence is a broad topic which can include: bullying,
cyber-bulling, hate crimes, gang-related crimes, sexual harassment/assault,
verbal abuse, and school shootings. As a result, I think it would be best if I
concentrated on one or two specific acts of school violence. Perhaps as I
conduct my research, I will be able to find a connection between both acts of
violence. Within the next few days I
will do some research in order to narrow down my interests, and consequently
narrow the topic of my paper. In addition, I will try to come up with specific questions
I want to target within my paper.
